Happy Holidays!

Just wanted to formally wish everyone Happy Holidays! We're in that great window between Christmas and New Years Day where you are letting out a sigh of relief because Christmas shopping and family obligations are over and are looking forward to having both a fun New Years Eve night and a fresh start for the New Year. I know I am! Alot of bad things happened to me in 2009, but I am optimistic and know that 2010 is going to be alot better.

So what are your New Years Eve plans? I am heading to Philadelphia tomorrow morning with two of my most favorite people in the world - my roommate, business partner and best friend - Psymon Jerusalem AND the guy I'm dating, Chuck Bass. Yup, I admit it, I'm not completely single anymore, but I DO prefer to keep things open and Chuck is cool with that. He's a really great guy. We have alot of fun together and he leads a pretty wholesome type of life, so I know bringing him into my craziness was a bit shocking at first, but now he fits right in! Philly is going to be so fun! I'm gonna eat a HUGE cheesesteak from Genos! The reason we're going is to see the Cinematic Titanic LIVE triple feature, which is going to be awesome! Cinematic Titanic is a group that spinned off from Mystery Science Theater 3000. You know, the show where the dude and the two robots make comments and make fun of bad movies? This is very similar and they're going to do it live and these three movies ONE time only. I can't wait!

I really need to go pack and stuff because in a couple hours, when Psymon gets home, we're going to shoot some ballbusting videos and a superheroine custom. Too much to do today! I love my life. I've never been much of a "photo" model. I prefer video stuff, but apparantely having great photos gives you "prestige". It shows people what you look like (but in reality, it's showing people a fantasy version of yourself) so that you can get work. This is why I want a video portfolio of myself. I'm NOT a photo model. But then, maximum exposure is doing everything...hmm. I like producing content. Maybe I should get more into that market. Best of both worlds; shooting it myself and exposure when it goes on someone elses site. As far as photos go, I will work with really good people, but Atlanta is not exactly the epicenter of skilled photographers. Ok, I need to make a list. New plans will go into action. Monsters of Folk was awesome last night! Conor Oberst did alot of old Bright Eyes stuff. It totally fucking rocked! Chuck and I snuck up to the "off limits" part of the venue and got a great view of the stage, but got booted back down like, half-way through the show. What rebels we are. :)

For awhile now, I've reduced this blog to a big fat advertisement. Sorry about that, guys! I've just been in an "expressing myself via writing" funk. I am currently counting calories and using the http://www.DailyPlate.com system. It tells you how many calories to eat if you want to lose 1, 1.5 or 2 pounds per week depending on your day-to-day activity level, height, current weight, etc. To lose 1 pound per week with moderate activity level (meaning I do household chores, take walks with my dog, exercise every so often), I can eat 1757 calories per day. So I eat stuff and then I type it into the website (or the IPhone app) and it tells me how many calories it was. It's really pretty easy and it's started to work. I know, I know, I'm not overweight or anything, but I would like to lose 5-10 pounds. Since I started doing this I've lost almost 5, so it's pretty awesome. I also give myself one "cheat day" in which I don't worry about counting calories and just eat whatever I want (without going TOO crazy). :) The "cheat day" keeps me sane and allows me to not have to completely eliminate pizza and ice cream from my diet. Pizza is probably the worst thing. Well, pasta is, actually. It's loaded with carbs, which is why you feel so good when you eat it! At least I do. But seriously, 1 cup of pasta is 800 calories alone without even putting marinara on it! I almost cried when I found that out.

Okay, I could talk about this all day, so I'll stop! Truth be told, I LOVE food. I'm really lucky that I'm not genetically predisposed to fatness. And luckily, I like healthy food just as much as unhealthy food.

I get serious cravings for Indian food. Especially tikka masala sauce. Yum! I also get cravings for macaroni and cheese. And burritos! What do you get cravings for?

New Orleans

Sorry I haven't posted in forever! I made my blog look better tonight, so now I feel like posting. :) I just got back from a vacation to New Orleans; it was awesome! The trip was a great combination of Bourbon St. drinkin' and daytime historical and recreational stuff. But best of all...the food! Holy shit it was good! Jambalaya, oysters, crawfish, turtle soup (yep, it's really turtle), bananas foster and this amazing dish called Pasta Rosa that I got at this AWESOME place called Coops. Shoot with Will Wagoner

Had a shoot with Will Wagoner today over at Candle's house. It was alot of fun; I hadn't done a photo shoot in awhile. Here are a few pics from it that he just sent me:






I especially like the 2nd and 3rd ones (the nude ones, go figure). I think I look a bit stiff in the 1st one and a bit chunky in the 4th one (probably just the angle). I hate that upward angle, it's rarely flattering. Except when you're doing a dramatic pose like the 2nd pic. I'm going to ask him to send me all of them on a disc so I can pick the ones I like the best.
